Internal resorption recall

From: Terry Pannkuk To: roots Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2012 9:40 AM Subject: [roots] 9 year perforating internal resorpiton recall with perio defects_maxillary second molar Hereís another interesting long term recall. I treated this molar with perforating internal resorption of the DB root. The defect was in an unfavorable location (coronal third), but would have been surgically accessible if necessary. No CBCT in 2003 so I would have been surgically exploring quite blind if perio pockets had developed in the area. The DB root was backpacked with MTA and the perio is normal in the area. The prognosis would have been poor if the resorption had been associated with deep wide perio pockets. The buccal cortical plate overlying the DB root appears intact although itís a little challenging to read with the scatter - Terry internal resorption recall
