Subject: [roots] 9 year retreatment recall
I retreated this molar that had a missed MB2 canal and missed DB2 canal in 2001.
It was a very tough case that had been hacked up. Is the lesion gone? - Terry
I forgot to post the all-important CBCT plane images. It is a massive bubble (it’s the lesion! ).
Here’s the attachment I accidentally left out. - Terry
The patient had been fine up until the crown was replaced a year ago.
2 weeks ago he developed swelling and biting sensitivity. I tested slight palpation
and percussion sensitivity. I wanted to see what was going on since it was a very
complicated retreatment. I scan as many of my own recalls for free as I can.
If I had not treated this case myself, I probably would have taken a scan just because
the sinus is obscuring the view so much on the PA. Due to the immense size of the lesion,
possibly being something weird like an OKC, I’m going go straight to surgery, but I could
make a case for doing nonsurgical first. Is the DB2 a real DB2 or a false path?
The DB-P root fusion is interesting. I’ll try to take a lot of pictures during the surgery.
The patient is very laid back and easy going.
This is definitely a good one to take a scan on! Check out the other attached views.- Terry
