Chronic apical inflammatory resorption

From: Terry Pannkuk To: roots Sent: Friday, December 16, 2011 7:21 AM Subject: [roots] 6 years of monitoring before pulling the trigger I’ve treated a few teeth on this woman over the years (#5, 3, and now #14, I didn’t not treat #12 which we’ve been watching). The findings were equivocal the past 6 years and she finally came back with a necrotic pulp and a LEO on #14. (#15 and 13) have very deep restorations and have probably been previously pulp crapped which raises diagnostic havoc; in this case 6 years until the pulp of #14 kicked the bucket. I simply ask the patient if they want to monitor or treat some of these teeth; she was fine with monitoring. Treatment went well, It seems there was a little chronic apical inflammatory resorption at the MB apex similar to that of #12 which looks a bit suspicious). The core was fun, the shade happened to be perfect (not always the case), and I was able to make the access completely disappear. I’ve been using Stephane Browet’s technique he described at his AMED presentation on occlusion. The brown tint even looked exactly like the brown tint used on the surface before I accessed the tooth. We’ll continue to watch #13 and 15; I’m sure she’ll be back at some point - Terry chronic apical inflammatory resorption
