Caries exposure

Subject: [roots] Caries Exposure

I finally got a caries exposure case today. Hess anatomy, fused root, with interconnecting confluent fins.
I took several off angle PA’s instead of a CT. A CT would have been interesting to see but wouldn’t have
changed my treatment strategy. I might take a CT on recall though to make sure it’s healed with this
complicated anatomy (No COD for initial therapy, but a CT could provide a COD on recall) COD=Critical
Option Determinant.

I find that the CT’s do not have adequate resolution to show most subtle lateral canals until they are
filled which is obviously after the fact. CT Recall assessment of periradicular healing is one of the
greatest values of this technology - Terry
