From: Carlos Murgel To: ROOTS Sent: Thursday, August 11, 2005 7:04 PM Subject: [roots] Hystogram Histograms are very important and as you can see from the images that I took from Glenn's excellent pictures they vary a lot. Note the histograms of his pictures and see how the vary, this is because he is taking pictures of different backgrounds with different apertures etc (my images also will have the same kind of distributions varying one from another depending on the background). I personally don't even look at histograms because I know what I want to see and how I want to see my images, just because I am a lazy boy... The Canon software has a histogram for every image but to be honest I don't look at it because I use the Breeze software (it also has histogram for every image to integrate with TDO and to me this is enough. I personally like pictures a bit under exposed because I perceive as a nicer image but this is my personal preferences. The ideal picture is something that we can never get but is something that we need to look for. I hope this can help you guys to see what an histogram is and what Glenn was talking about.
