Subject: [roots] External Resorption-not all the same
Here’s a case I strongly suspected as being arrested ECIR, but after seeing the CBCT I think it’s simple
form of inflammatory external resorption replacing the root in a localized arrested crater. It hasn’t
changed in 5 years (2005 radiograph provided by gp). It doesn’t look like ECIR. The pulp is necrotic,
probings do not bleed, no perio communication. After taking the CBCT I upgraded the assessed prognosis
from guarded at best to guarded-to-fair.
