Subject: [roots] Internal Resorption
Although a short time recall only (8 months) this has been an interesting case.
Trauma sufferd in 2000 (skateboard accident , tooth hit the edge of a sidewalk).
Kind of a pulpotomie has been performed using cotton pellet, guttapercha & a lot of sealer.
In 2005 tooth already showed AP. In 2010 tooth got symptomatic and showed widening of canal
space in the apical third.
Patient has been referred for retreatment. Lateral compaction definitely is not the optimum for canals
like this one. After removal of the gp the cotton pellet showed massive contamination. More to the apex
resorption tissue has been found, creating the widening of the canal space. 2 visits. CaOH2 for 2 weeks.
collagen for creating a barrier. MTA for obturation. Seems to work that far.
Sorry for the quality of the pictures but I had to reduce file size to get through.- Jörg Schröder
