Subject: [roots] Fw: Another K3 & LS case

This is another example of the same hybrid approach with K3 & LS.

In this tooth # 2 the canals were a bit curved at the end and it worked fine with LS for large apical preps if compared
with traditional techniques (palatal # 70, mb # 60 and db # 65).

Another interesting thing of this case is that I search for the MB2 with ultrasonic (Carr pearl diamond) and didn't
find any....I was disappointed because this was one of the very few that I didn't find an MB2 in a long time.

Comments are welcome - Carlos Murgel

Just before I go to Venezuela tonight I am still doing endo.....it is hard to make a leaving like Dan mention. This case I used the hybrid approach with K3 & LS and as you can see the final apical preparation was a #60 on the palatal and a #65 on the bucal. I know that for some the apical preps are to large the wl is to short and that there is no puff..... All I can say is that this technique is very predictable, the wl control is perfect and the apical areas are very clean. The obturation was done with SilpliFill at the apex and PacMac for back fill. Very fast and safe obturation technique. Comments are welcome - Carlos Murgel

Dear Carlos, As usual excellent documentation !! I would like to know what others feel about the cases - but to me they do not look short - they appear just RIGHT at the apex, ofcourse minus the signature puffs- I still haven't decided which side of the line I am on. - Rajiv Patel
