Passed BDS from Govt. Dental College, Ahmedabad in the year 1984. Selected on merit , in the year 1986 finished MDS in Operative Dentistry and and Endodontics from the same college. Dissertation Topic being remineralisation of carious dentine with sodium flouride, stannous flouride (an SEM study) After working for 6 months in a private clinic at Mahesana, she is doing private practice for the past 20 years from April 1987 in Chennai at the above address

Dr S Mahalaxmi attended various courses on Implantology - Two day course with hands on conducted in Mumbai in the year 1996 on Frialit-2 during the APDF conference. Attended the course conducted by J Van Straten Medische Technick- Holland, workshop & hands on course on Frialit 2 Implant system and guided tissue generation during April 1996. During November 1996 underwent a course on ITI implants - a two day course with hands on at Bangalore
