Subject: [roots] Two mandibular incisors
Here are two mandibular incisors I treated yesterday.
Teeth were prepped By G.P when he noticed the "redness"
I accessed these teeth from the incisal direction rather
than the conventional lingual access.
Advantages:
Direct visibility with the scope. No mirror.
Easier access to the second lingual canal which is the
one most likely to be missed.
Both teeth were non-vital and done in one visit.
Canals merged together in one tooth. had separate portals
of exit in the other. Very narrow canals.
The patient was more impressed with the "colour change"
in the tooth.
Questions, Comments, Criticism welcome - Siju

Hi Siju .....nice case......all my 2 canal lower incisors have
been the ones with the incisal access...wonder how many I have
missed with a conventional lingual access - Sachin
You can extend the access lingually even with the conventional Access.

what do you attribute to the redness ? - vipin
Blood and pulpal remnants in the dentinal tubules - Siju
I get the idea that the red colour is due to blood. But without trauma
how can a tooth become red because of blood? pardon my ignorance - Vipin
There was probably trauma earlier which wasn't noticed.
Other causes include:
1) Restorative procedures without adequate coolant.
2) Trauma from occlusion - Siju
