Subject: [roots] Endo Dx Puzzle
Interesting presentation: 66 year old male patient was referred by a local oral surgeon. This patient had endo
on the first bicuspid performed in Tijuana, Mexico five months ago. There was pain immediately afterwards including
numbness radiating to the ear. His tennis partner, a dentist, told him to have it extracted so he went back to the
Mexican dentist and had it taken out a month ago. The Mexican dentist said it wasn’t cracked and was a perfectly
good tooth. I tested all the adjacent teeth and they were fine. He seems to think it feels like the pain is
originating from the extraction socket. I’m trying to get more info from the Mexican dentist. The oral surgeon
doesn’t understand it. I believe I ruled out an endo etiology related to any of the remaining teeth.
The extraction site is fully healed and there is no palpation sensitivity. The oral surgeon took an ICAT this
morning and it was clear of any disease signs. Que Pasa? - Terry
