Subject: [roots] RETREATMENT CASE
This patient was referred to me one month ago. GP broke a #10 K file during initial negotiation
Patient has been always asymptomatic
Vertical and horizontal percussion slightly sensitive
Previously initiated therapy
Normal periapical status
Buccal canal WL 21 mm instrumentation with ProTaper/Profile
Palatal canal presence of a blockage 18 mm. Managed to bypass broken file with C-Pilot files and after
some irrigation fragment came out. Achived patency with precurved files (sharp curvature) at 20 mm. WL 21 mm
GuttaCone-File test and Microsuction test: Weine type II configuration. Palatal canal has been
instrumented to the level of the union point and keep patency with a K #15 file prebended
Obturation with gutta+AHPlus. CWC technique and Buccal canal as main canal.
What do you think about final radiograph. Do you think there is an apical split deeper than the union point?
That could explain why I had to prebend files to achive patency in palatal canal and I didnīt need to prebend
files to achive patency in buccal canal? What do you think about the prognosis of this case?
Thanks god itīs friday!!! 21:24 here in Spain... no more endo till Monday!! Enjoy your weekend
