Subject: [roots] Retreatment 15
Retreatment with some surprise. I expecated a full metal core, but found a metal post fixed with composite.
Same procedure as removal of a metal post and core. Finally it moved out. 2 canals merging into a big one.
CaOH2 for 3 weeks and temporary build-up. Crown lenghtening will follow. Note the discoloration after
irrigation in the area of the fistula. Pt. has been free of symptoms after the first visit.
Best regards from Berlin, Germany - Jörg Schröder

Love it, What do you use to irigate the Sinus Tract ? CHX XXX% ? - Thomas
Thomas, I did not irrigate it on purpose. Must have happened while irrigating the canal.
Call this a Bleach Accidnet? - Jörg
Jorg, It happens. Don't call it a Hypochlorite accident.
I had one, and believe me you will never forget it. - Thomas
Hi Jorg, What kind of core build up did you go in for in this case? - Sachin
Sachin, I used a dual curing composite called Rebilda made bei Voco in combination
with Syntac Classic by Vivadent - Jörg
Why do you rate it above cast cores? I still go in for cast cores and economy being the main reason
and I ask for the advantages of a dual cure buildup only to shift over if there is a big disadvantage
with the cast cores - Sachin
Sachin, I just see a disadvantage for cast cores inthe need to remove more toothstructure in order
to avoid undercuts (right word?). In my hands I never had a VRF with Fiberposts but some with casted cores.
The e-modul of casted cores is different to that from teeth, so it makes sense to me to
use composite with fibreposts. Hope it makes sence - Jörg
Modulus of elasticity makes a lot of sense ...:-)...thanks Jorg - Sachin
Hi Thomas , Do we really need to irrigate the sinus tract ? Once we have worked upon the source of infection
( the root canal system) I think there is no need to irrigate the sinus tract.
Plz correct me if I am wrong. - Sachin
