Does this technique fit only virgin necrosis or retreatment cases would be consider?

I have the retreatment case of #23 with huge open apex and very thin walls. I’ve cleaned it and taken timeout
for 2 weeks with calcium hydroxide. I’m afraid if I go to apexification with MTA the tooth can crack in the future.
