Scope photos : ring flash

From: Mark Dreyer To: ROOTS Sent: Thursday, July 09, 2009 9:34 PM Subject: [roots] Photos I think I'm making progress. This scope has a better ring flash. - Mark Dreyer
HI Mark, what camera settings are you using?(and what camera/mount) i think you should increase iso, and decrease exposure time and aperture - Sergiu Sergiu, I'm using the Canon D20 with a Zeis F220 (?) adaptor. I have a dual iris which allows me to close down the aperture. I'm running 800 iso and shutter speed of 1/125. Still working things out. I'll post another case now. - Mark you can use 1/100 or even 1/80 speed shutter, the pics will become lighter. And don't worry about blurring pics, when we lower the speed shutter, as long as it stays over 1/60 it's ok - Sergiu Not sure I agree lowering the sync speed to 1/60 if you want razor crisp photos, but one other thing not mentioned here Is the use of a cable release or electronic release to cut down on vibration at the moment of truth - Gary
