Sinus tract healed: sealer

From: Guy Moorman Sent: donderdag 9 juli 2009 13:55 To: ROOTS Subject: [roots] sinus tract healed This case had a sinus tract. The pre-op was taken by the referring doc and the "palliative" done by the referring doc. I swear I could not find a perf but I still covered the floor with a thin highly compressed layer of MTA. This was a long fun case. The initial tx was posted previously. You can follow the sinus tract from both apexes to the furcation area. Note the furcation involvement was there before the palliative was done. This one broke the bank and I now do all palliatives for this doc. April until July of 2009 has shown sinus tract healing. Appears to be some healing at the apex but could be angulation. Resilon, Epiphany, Twisted Files, K3s and System A. - Guy W. Moorman, Jr. DDS

Hi Guy - It seems that you did not really control the flow of Epiphany through the apexes here (or through the sinus tract. What is "system A" ? - Hagay Shemesh, Amsterdam Did not try to control the flow. What would be a puff on a regular case would be a flow through a sinus tract. The body will resorb it. System A is plasticizing the obturant with a Pac Mac and then warm vertical compaction. The excess does not bother me. None would. - Guy Case seems nicely shaped and obturated, but is that much sealer necessary??? - BM Chauvin Well, probably not as much sealer there as it appears. They make this stuff very radio-0paque - Guy
